Locations: Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care (Plaza Drive, Rocklin)
Schedule: Fri–Tue (rooming + hospitalization duties), with an additional 5th day to be scheduled around your availability. Friday–Monday are mandatory.

Position Overview
We need an experienced Veterinary Assistant who is confident with hospital and surgical care. You will work closely with veterinarians and other medical staff to care for sick and post-op patients, perform diagnostics, assist with anesthesia/sedation, monitor cases, and help triage emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Hospitalization duties: monitoring sick and post-op patients, providing fluid therapy, monitoring vitals and status changes
- Calculate and manage CRIs (constant rate infusions)
- Anesthesia and sedation monitoring
- Confident placement of IVCs
- Phlebotomy skills – draw blood reliably; perform various lab sample handling
- Diagnostic radiographs (xrays),
- Triage emergencies; recognize and respond to decompensating patients
- Client education: explain diagnostics, procedures, preventative health care, vaccine schedules and estimates/discharges.
Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- VASCP permit or eligibility to obtain one
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary assistant experience with strong hospitalization and monitoring background
- Proven ability to safely and confidently place IVCs
- Solid phlebotomy and lab sample handling skills
- Familiarity with anesthesia/sedation monitoring
- Comfortable with diagnostic X-ray work
- Strong communication skills, especially client education and handling urgent cases
- Ability to triage and assess emergencies

Compensation & Hours
- Pay range: $24–$26/hr (depending on experience and credentials)
- Hours: Fri–Tue plus a 5th day (flexible)
