We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team in an Urgent Care / Drop-Off focused role.
Position Overview
This role will primarily support urgent care and drop-off appointments and is ideal for a confident, hands-on VA who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient intake and triage for urgent care and drop-off cases
- Assisting the veterinarian during exams and procedures
- Collaborating with the DVM to create and review treatment estimates
- Performing diagnostic tests and treatments
- Running in-house lab work
- Monitoring sedated patients
- Performing radiographs
- Preparing and filling prescriptions
- Client communication and discharge instructions
Required Skills & Experience
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant (urgent care or ER experience a plus)
- Confident with:
- IVC placement
- Blood draws
- In-house lab diagnostics
- Creating estimates
- Anesthesia/sedation monitoring
- Radiographs
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Team-oriented with a calm, professional demeanor under pressure
Compensation
- $21–$23/hour, depending on experience
