Clinic Hours
  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm
  • Shift Hours: TBD Monday-Friday
Responsibilities
This position utilizes a wide range of technical skills, including:
  • Rooming patients and client communication
  • Assisting DVMs and RVTs during exams and procedures
  • Blood draws, IV catheter placement, cystocentesis
  • Radiographs and in-house lab work
  • Anesthesia support: recovery, extubation, monitoring a plus!
  • Filling prescriptions, pharmacy consults, and wellness recommendations
  • Patient triage and safe restraint
  • Medical record accuracy and clerical support
  • Maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a hospital setting
  • Proficient in basic VA skills (blood draws, restraint, rads, lab work)
  • Familiar with advanced VA skills (IVC placement, cysto, anesthesia monitoring, triage, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Moderate to advanced understanding of veterinary medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to patient safety, client service, and practice values
  • Must follow OSHA regulations and safety protocols
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and handle 30 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally
  • Standing, bending, and performing repetitive motions as part of daily duties
  • Comfortable working with animals in all health conditions, including handling aggressive or fearful patients
Work Environment
  • Exposure to hazards such as aggressive patients, infectious diseases, controlled substances, animal waste, and loud noises
  • Safety training and PPE provided
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay: $20 – $23/hr DOE & proficiency
