Veterinary Assistant (Floor) – Tuesday through Saturday

Pay: $19.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience
Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and team-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our Floor Team.
We are looking for an assistant who is passionate about patient care, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and is eager to continue building their technical skills. Whether you're already experienced or have a strong foundation and the drive to learn, we'd love to meet you.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Tuesday through Saturday
Responsibilities
- Room appointments and obtain accurate patient histories
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and treatments
- Educate clients on preventative care, vaccines, and treatment recommendations
- Safely restrain dogs and cats for examinations and procedures
- Perform blood draws and assist with laboratory sample collection
- Assist with IV catheter placement and treatments as experience allows
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed
- Assist with diagnostic imaging and patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Support a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area
- Work collaboratively with veterinarians, RVTs, and fellow veterinary assistants to provide exceptional patient care
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of veterinary assistant experience preferred
- Strong animal restraint and handling skills
- Knowledge of preventative care, vaccine protocols, and client education
- Comfortable performing blood draws (cephalic and/or saphenous)
- Jugular blood draw experience is preferred but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
